Actor Dhanush, who turned 31 on Monday, celebrated his birthday on Sunday night in Chennai with family and very close friends.
Dhanush, who has been shooting for R. Balakrishnan’s “Shamitabh”, flew down from Mumbai to spend time with his parents on the occasion.
“Dhanush had come home to spend time with his parents and wife Aishwarya for his birthday. His wife threw him a surprise birthday party in Chennai last night and his close friends from the industry along with his family members were also present,” a source close to the actor told

Tamil actors Simbu, Suriya, Amala Paul and Surabhi were part of Dhanush’s birthday celebration.
