The host of Netflix’s new show on pushing boundaries and Trump

Comedian Chelsea Handler’s got a hold on Netflix. After a stand-up special, a docu-series and a 90-episode talk show, she is back with the second season of Chelsea . In a world where men in suits rule late-night television, Handler first broke the ceiling with her E! show, Chelsea Lately (2007-2014), and continues to do so with her Netflix deal.

Viewers can expect a heavy skew towards politics in season two of Chelsea . “Too many people did not vote, and too many people who were not informed voted,” she says, adding that she hopes to mobilise the young. “It is about making sure you are respectful of your voice and the people who fought before you to give you the right to vote and not take that for granted. If you don’t participate this (Donald Trump) will happen.”

Recently, the TV star/activist led the Women’s March on Washington in Utah, while the Sundance Film Festival was underway simultaneously. “I’m very happy being a leader, I’ve always been not afraid to stand up for something,” she says.
