'Baywatch' release slated for May 2017

Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut film Baywatch will be released on May 19, 2017. The film’s principal photography has already begun, Paramount Pictures announced on Friday. The movie will be shot in Miami and Savannah in the U.S.

Baywatch is the film version of the popular 1990s TV series of the same name. Priyanka, who has garnered success on the international TV space with Quantico , will play a negative role.

The film has an eclectic star cast with names like Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Director Seth Gordon is directing the film from a screenplay written by Damian Shannon, Mark Swift and Barry Schwartz.

The film follows devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon (Johnson) as he headbutts with a brash new recruit (Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay.
