The trailer for Jake Gyllenhaal’s new drama Demolition directed by Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallee has surfaced online.

The movie tells the story of a greiving investment banker rebuilding his life, reported Deadline. Davis (Gyllenhaal) feels lost and alone following the tragic death of his wife in a car crash. Still reeling from the accident, he writes a complaint letter to the company vending machine company, the first of a series of revealing personal missives.

The letters, incidentally, catch the attention of customer service operator, played by Naomi Watts, who has her own set of problems. They connect and Naomi's character helps re-inspire his passion for living.

Demolition is the opening film for the prestigious 2015 Toronto International Film Festival.

Naomi Watts, Chris Cooper and Judah Lewis have supporting roles in the drama, which has been tipped as a future Oscar contender much like the director's Dallas Buyers Club in 2014 and Reese Witherspoon starrer Wild in 2015.

Demolition hits the screens on April 8 in the US.
