The Election Commission has relaxed restrictions imposed in the State following implementation of the model code of conduct ahead of the April 24 Lok Sabha polls in Tamil Nadu.

“Election Commission has stated that in Tamil Nadu, where polling has been completed, all normal administrative work/development activities of the State may be taken up, except in such districts where re-poll, if any, is pending,” Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Kumar said in a statement on Saturday.

However, officials connected with conduct of polls can be transferred till the entire election process is completed, he said.
