People line up to cast their votes outside a polling station in Howrah district of West Bengal on Wednesday.

The CPI(M) on Tuesday accused the ruling Trinamool Congress of booth capturing and vote rigging during the elections for the nine Lok Sabha seats in the State and demanded a repoll.

“A large number of booths have been captured by ruling Trinamool Congress cadres. Our polling agents have been driven out of the booths,” Left Front chairman Biman Bose alleged.

“There has to be repoll in those booths, so that the people can cast their votes,” said Mr. Bose, the State secretary of the CPI(M).

He also alleged that central forces were not used properly and the Election Commission had failed to ensure free and fair polls.
