About 500 armed masked men attacked a polling team in Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday and reportedly destroyed the electronic voting machines.
The team was on its way to Nampe, where a repoll has been scheduled on Tuesday. Nampe falls under the Koloriang Assembly constituency in Kurung Kumey district. The team, which also comprised the CPRF and two sections of the Indian Reserve Battalion, was waylaid at Lumbung by the group.
A police team had left for Nampe, nodal election officer Sunil Garg said.
