The circulation of fake news, suspicious advertisements and paid news in the print and electronic media as well as on social media will be put under rigorous monitoring in the run-up to the Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan. Several committees have been formed to keep a watch on such instances. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Joga Ram said here that the Media Certification and Monitoring Committees would be formed in all the 33 districts under the District Election Officers. He said pre-certification was mandatory for political parties and candidates for advertising in electronic media and e-papers. It was not required for releasing advertisements to newspapers, he said.
