The BJP headquarters in New Delhi is awash with ticket hopefuls from across the country, all seeking facetime with party president Amit Shah. So much so that junior leaders and Union Ministers were being collared by the hopefuls for a meeting with Mr. Shah. To calm what could become flared tempers, Mr. Shah on Wednesday sat for nearly an hour and met with over a hundred ticket seekers and if not a promise of a ticket, at least gave them the satisfaction of having lobbied at the highest levels in the party. Some internal meetings of the party were postponed due to the exercise.
