Delhi BJP chief's supporters protest outside party office

The protesters were upset that Satish Upadhyay had been left out of the party's list of candidates.

Supporters of Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay protested outside the party's Pandit Pant Marg office on Tuesday evening.

The protesters were upset that Mr. Upadhyay had been left out of the party's list of candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Late Monday night, BJP national president Amit Shah had announced that the decision to field Kiran Bedi as the chief ministerial candidate was unanimous.

According to police, party supporters got into a scuffle inside the office premises.

A police official said: "Force was already deployed outside the office, so when the scuffle broke out, our personnel took control of the situation immediately."
