The Centre on Friday informed the Supreme Court that it is open to the suggestion of conducting NEET, a single window entrance test for admissions to MBBS and BDS courses, in Urdu medium also from next academic year.
The government, represented by Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar told a Bench comprising Justices Kurian Joseph and R. Banumathi that it was not feasible to introduce Urdu as one of the mediums for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) from the current academic year.
The Bench granted time till March 22 to the Centre and others including the Medical Council of India (MCI), the Dental Council of India (DCI) and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for filing their responses in the case.

Currently, NEET is conducted in 10 languages.
