What made you conceptualise Vedantu?

Vedantu is an online tutoring company, which enables live interactive learning between a teacher and a student. It caters to students from classes VI to XII and prepares them for school board and competitive exams. Education should not be restricted; instead should be available for all. To help students overcome exam pressure, we have introduced an app called ‘Free Doubt Solving, NCERT Solutions, LIVE Learning’. Students preparing for the board exams as well as NEET and JEE, get access to a variety of in-depth content and learning, for free.

What are some of its special features?

The USP of our venture is the quality of highly trained teachers. We believe that the basic concept of one-size-fits-all is not effective, and should change. The approach to teach students is different on our platform, based on their performance. It is also flexible in terms of time, location, duration and pace of study.

Its cutting-edge technology and the revolutionary Whiteboard Audio Video Environment (WAVE) technology makes learning in even low or fluctuating bandwidth, possible. The academic research and innovation team spends a significant amount of time to create and curate the most relevant content for the learners. Teachers provide regular tests and assignments to students and keep parents in the loop on the progress of the child.

Tell us about the live learning feature.

Here, a teacher can give personalised teaching using two-way audio, video and whiteboarding tools where, both teacher and student are able to see, hear, write and interact in real-time. These are not recorded videos/lectures. Our live session can take more than 500 students at a time. We have realised that best learning happens when a teacher personally sits with a student to discuss and teach him/her. This is precisely what our sessions replicate, for students and teachers sitting thousands of kilometres away.

What are the subjects you cater to?

We cater to the K12 category of students and have courses customised for them. Any student who is studying for class VI and above, or is preparing for competitive exams, can find study material on our platform at a minimal cost on the app.
