Devotees taken into preventive custody at the Sabarimala Temple as fresh protests broke out at Nadapanthal area in Sannidhanam. Superintendent of Police (special officer) Pratheesh Kumar said that 28 people were detained for violating Section 144 that prohibits assembly of more than four people at a spot. A five-judge bench led by Ranjan Gogoi is set to re-examine the earlier verdict on January 22, 2019.

People who lost their lives after a fire broke out in a factory in Beodonpura in central Delhi’s Karol Bagh. The deceased have been identified as Bagan Prsahad (55), RM Naresh 40, Aarti (20) and Asha (40). Ajit,25, who was injured, is now being treated at a hospital.
