Kiwis extend unbeaten run to 13

With a seven-wicket victory against Pakistan in the first T20 of the series, New Zealand extended their undefeated run across all formats of the game to 13.

Football

Lyon beat PSG 2-1

Lyon handed Paris Saint-Germain only their second league defeat this season as Memphis Depay scored a stunning late winner. With the 2-1 victory, Lyon trimmed PSG’s lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table to eight points.

In La Liga, Barcelona thumped five goals past Real Betis to take their lead over Atletico Madrid to nine points, while Inter Milan were held to a 1-1 draw by Roma in Serie A.

Federer faces Berdych in quarters

Roger Federer will take on Tomas Berdych in the Australian Open quarter-finals after he eased past Marton Fucsovics in the Round of 16.

Women’s top-seed Simona Halep and 2016 Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber also progressed to the last-eight stage in contrasting fashion. While Halep had it easy following her marathon match in the previous round, Kerber was made to fight for every point by Hsieh Su-wei.
