Vijaya Bank said it opened savings bank accounts for over 200 people at Pollachi near Coimbatore on Wednesday as part of the Jan Dhan Yojana. Officials of the Pollachi branch distributed Rupay cards and passbooks to the beneficiaries.
Executive Director K.R.Shenoy briefed them on the features of the scheme in the presence of Regional Manager G.Vasudevan.
A large number of people from nearby villages participated in the programme, the bank said.
