Tata Coffee names Sanjiv Sarin as CEO designate

The board of directors of Tata Coffee Ltd. has informed Bombay Stock Exchange that it has approved the appointment of Sanjiv Sarin as the ‘CEO designate’ of the company with effect from January 8, 2015.

In a filing to the bourse, Tata Coffee said Mr. Sanjiv Sarin will assume charge as Managing Director and CEO of Tata Coffee Ltd. after the retirement of Hameed Huq, the current MD and CEO. Hameed Huq will retire on March 31, 2015 and has been with Tata Coffee for over 15 years and held the position of Managing Director since 2010.

Mr. Sarin is currently the Regional President for South Asia in Tata Global Beverages Ltd, the holding company of Tata Coffee Ltd. During his tenure, he has significantly strengthened Tata Global Beverages’ position in the India branded tea market.

Appointments at TGB

In another announcement Tata group company, Tata Global Beverages (TGB) appointed Sushant Dash as the Regional President – India effective immediately. He will take over charge from Sanjiv Sarin, and will be based out of Bengaluru.

In his most recent role, he was the Global Brand Director of TGB, the company said in a release.

The Company also announced that Vikram Grover will be taking charge as Deputy Head of TGB’s water business, with immediate effect, based out of Mumbai. In addition, Vikram will also have overall responsibility for TGB’s businesses in Pakistan and Bangladesh.
