Reliance Communications (RCom), which is now offering 3G services with attractive data packages, hopes to give a boost to its revenues from the sale of recently-launched tablet PC as it would lead to more data usage. And to woo customers, it has come out with a plan offering triple data download benefit at the cost of a single plan. “Priced at just Rs.12,999, the ‘Reliance Tab', which is a 3G and WiFi-enabled Android tablet, is aimed at young generation that is entertainment freak and also business users who want to surf Internet on-the-go. Besides its affordability, our network strength will give tablet users a massive advantage over other players,” said RCom President Mahesh Prasad.
“We have been pioneers in taking bold steps to innovate and re-invent the telecom ecosystem in the country…the launch of 3G tablet is in line with this principle. Tablet will complement our strong 3G network, while our users will get benefited from various innovative applications and services that we are offering,” he said. RCom has 3G licence for 13 circles, while it has pan-India 2G network.
Loaded with several innovative features and multimedia capabilities, RCom's tablet works on the company's IP-based 3G network across 333 towns, including Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata.

“With push e-mail becoming more popular on the mobile phones, our tablet provides a user-friendly e-mail experience on its seven-inch screen for business users. Moreover, bundled with ‘Documents To Go', business users can now conveniently view and work with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and PDF attachments,” he said. Now, surfing Internet has been made much more attractive with RCom's triple data download plan at the cost of one single plan; and it would help popularise the affordable too, he added.
