Pennar Engineered Buildings Systems plans to set up a pre-engineered buildings manufacturing facility in Rajasthan with an initial capacity of 30,000 tonnes annually to cater to the needs of North India and expand the output of the plant near here to 90,000 tonnes.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, Chairman of the Pennar Group, Nrupender Rao, and PEBS Executive Director, P. V. Rao, said the market size of pre-engineered buildings was around Rs.4,000 crore in the country and was growing by 15-20 per cent annually. Since the setting up of manufacturing facility with a capacity of 30,000 tonnes at Sadashivpet, Medak district in 2008, the company had secured orders worth Rs.500 crore. The capacity was subsequently doubled to 60,000 tonnes and proposed to be increased to 90,000 tonnes in the next six months.

Mr. Rao said the company secured an order from Larsen & Toubro for the supply and installation of four lakh sq. ft. pre-engineered steel building for Reliance Retail distribution centre at Pune. He said Reliance was proposing to set up 15 such retail distribution centres all over the country.
