German luxury carmaker Mercedes-Benz on Wednesday unveiled the new generation ‘SLK 350', priced at Rs.61.9-lakh. ‘SLK' that pioneered the ‘Roadster' segment in the world comes with ‘Magic Sky Control' panoramic vario-roof for the first-time ever.

Powered by 3.5-litre petrol engine, the car has innovative ‘BlueEFFICIENCY' measures that ensure optimal performance and environment compatibility.

“The new SLK 350 demonstrates the rich blend of sophistication with the latest in design and technology. With its powerful innovative features and state-of-the-art technology, the car proves not just to be an exhilarating experience to the driver but also a visual delight, consolidating its status as a benchmark product world-over,” Mercedes-Benz India Director (Sales & Marketing) Debashis Mitra told journalists here. Pointing out that the new car will come to India as a completely built unit (CBU), Mr. Mitra said the company sold around 3-4 cars a month of SLK 200 last year and hoped that this number would go up. Mercedes-Benz India sold 5,819 cars in 2010, its highest-ever sales figure in the country.
