Maruti Suzuki produces over 1 million K-series engines

Maruti Suzuki India Pvt. Ltd. on Wednesday said its new generation K-series engines that power bestseller cars like WagonR, Swift and Alto-K10 had attained the milestone of cumulative production of 10 lakh units.

Launched in October 2008, with hatchback A-Star as the flagship model, the fuel efficient K-series engine has attained this milestone in less than three-years with a proven track record of zero defect outflow and zero process warranty claim.

Commenting on the achievement, MSIL Chief General Manager (Marketing) Shashank Srivastava said: “We feel proud that customers have really appreciated our offerings mounted with the next generation K-series engine. As market leader, we have continuously improved the technologies over the years.”

Of the total production in achieving the milestone, the company has fitted the K-series engine in over 3.5 lakh units of A-Star, 1.9 lakh units of WagonR, 1.36 lakh units of Alto K-10, 1.05 lakh units of Estilo, 1.24 lakh units of Swift and 95,000 units of Ritz.
