The Reserve Bank on Thursday fixed the reference rate of the rupee for the US dollar at 55.4430 and the euro at 71.6160 as against 55.2605 per dollar and 71.1310 per euro on Wednesday.
In a press release issued by RBI, the exchange rates for the pound and yen against the rupee were quoted at 89.3076 a pound and 71.33 per 100 yen, based on reference rates for the US dollar and cross-currency quotes at noon.
The reference rate is based on the noon rates of select banks here and the SDR-rupee rate would be based on this rate, the release added.
