The Indian rupee depreciated by two paise to 45.46 in early trade on Friday as dollar strengthened overseas.
At the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market, the rupee weakened by two paise to 45.46 a dollar. The rupee ended lower by 10 paise at 45.44\45 dollar in the previous session.
Forex dealers said besides strong dollar overseas, demand from importers for the US currency also weighed on the rupee sentiment.

Meanwhile, the Bombay Stock Exchange index Sensex rose by 44.54 points, or 0.25 per cent at 17,563.80 points in the opening trade today.
