Pathbreaking 3D camera from Fujifilm

Japanese photographic solutions provider Fujifilm on Thursday unveiled its groundbreaking new imaging technology — FinePix Real 3D System — and launched world’s first 3D (three dimensional) digital camera that allows users enjoy 3D images with naked eye without the need for wearing special 3D glasses.

The revolutionary 3D system consists of 3D camera, an 8 inch viewer screen on which spectacular 3D images can be displayed and high precision production technology that enables users to print 3D images.

While the 3D camera is priced at Rs. 39,999, the 3D screen and photo printing technology will be introduced soon.

Strategy

Addressing a press conference here, Fujifilm India Managing Director Kenichi Tanaka said: “We believe in bringing the latest of its technological innovations to the discerning buyers in India. Our strategy is to become one of the top digital camera brands in India and acquire 15 per cent market share in three years”.

Fujifilm India Country General Manager (Digital Imaging) A. Rajkumar said they were expecting sales of Rs. 150 crore this fiscal and targeting it to double in 2010-11. “We will be introducing about 7-8 new products by December in order to expand our presence in the digital category,” Mr. Rajkumar added.
