Audi's September sales zoom 47 p.c.

German luxury car manufacturer Audi’s Indian subsidiary on Saturday said that its sales in September grew at 302 cars as against 205 cars in the same period last year - an increase of 47 per cent.

“Our successful run in India continues in September 2010. We are confident that we are well poised to achieve annual sales of 3,000 cars this year, which exceeds our revised annual target of 2,700 cars,” said Michael Perschke, head of Audi India.

According to the company, it has sold 2,178 cars from January to September this year, recording a growth of 63 per cent over the same period last year.

“Our focus on network expansion and the introduction of new and energetic products over the next few months is in line with our growth strategy for India,” Mr. Perschke said.

The company also said that its limousine car A8 LWB will be launched towards the end of this year.

“Our product offensive will begin with the launch of the much-awaited Audi A8 LWB, towards the end of this year, with the renewal of our limousines beginning with the Audi A8, we are extremely bullish on the year 2011,” he added.

Currently the A4, A6, Q5, Q7, TT and the super sports car Audi R8 are available at Audi’s dealerships across the country.
