1st unit of Adhunik at Jharkhand goes on stream

Adhunik Power & Natural Resources Ltd (APNRL), part of the Kolkata- based Adhunik Group, commissioned the first 270 MW unit of its 2 x 270 MW coal-fired thermal power plant in Saraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand

APNRL has already signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Jharkhand State Electricity Board, Power Trading Corporation, Tata Power Trading Company, and West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company aggregating around 435 MW. It will operate this power project by utilizing coal from its captive mines at Ganeshpur block in Latehar district of Jharkhand, which is expected to be operational by the second quarter of the 2014 fiscal.

For now, it has obtained tapering coal linkages from Coal India Limited (CIL), and has also executed fuel supply agreement.
