CNG version of Dost soon

Ashok Leyland has sold over 5,000 units of ‘Dost', its new light commercial vehicle (LCV) launched in October last, and will soon unveil the CNG (compressed natural gas) version of the vehicle.

V. Sumantran, Executive Vice-Chairman of Hinduja Automotive, and Chairman of Nissan Ashok Leyland Powertrain, said here on Thursday that the LCV had so far got encouraging response from markets where it was launched, including the four southern States, Maharashtra and Gujarat. The company would launch Dost in Rajasthan soon, he said.

He said the company had garnered 22 per cent of the LCV market share in the states where it had launched Dost thus far, while enjoying 10 per cent of the national market. Declining to provide any sales guidance for the ensuing fiscal, he said the company would be launching a variant once every six months from now on.

He was addressing presspersons after inaugurating Malik Motors, the second dealership in the twin cities and fourth in the State.
