Budget 2018: Law to revise salaries for MPs every five years proposed

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday proposed changes to refix emoluments to Parliamentarians with effect from April 1, 2018.

The proposed law will provide automatic revision of emoluments every five years indexed to inflation.

Emoluments for the President, Vice-President and Governors were also revised to ₹5 lakh, ₹4lakh and ₹3.5 lakh per month respectively.
