PayPal appoints Anupam Pahuja as India Country Manager and MD

Global payments platform PayPal on Wednesday said it has appointed Anupam Pahuja as the Managing Director and Country Manager for its India operations.

Pahuja has been with the company for over six years and he hs been heading the technology for APAC, PayPal said in a statement.

As the MD & Country Manager for India, he will be responsible for all aspects of PayPal’s India business and further strengthening the company’s operations in India, he added.

“India continues to be a key part of PayPal’s growth strategy. In India’s fast-growing e-commerce and payments market, we have enabled hundreds of thousands of small and medium businesses and entrepreneurs participate in the global economy,” PayPal Asia Pacific CEO Rohan Mahadevan said.

With Pahuja’s appointment as the business leader of this market, PayPal will continue to bring its global scale, experience and risk management platforms for safe and frictionless experiences to customers, he added.

Pahuja was instrumental in establishing PayPal’s technology centres in India. Prior to PayPal, he was the Managing Director for India for NASDAQ-listed SumTotal Systems, the world’s largest eLearning company.

He has founded and sold several businesses in the US and in India and serves as a Board Member for several companies and non-profit organisations.

With 184 million active customer accounts, US-based PayPal has a presence in more than 200 markets
