NFL sets production target

National Fertilizers Ltd. (NFL) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Department of Fertilizers where the company has set a production target of 32.31-lakh tonnes of urea for 2010-11. The MoU also lays stress on financial performance, agriculture extension and promotional activities, improved energy consumption, safety and environment and corporate social responsibility (CSR). NFL has also undertaken various projects to upgrade its plants that include converting three fuel oil based plants at Panipat, Bathinda and Nangal to natural gas, and capacity enhancement of urea at its Vijaipur plant.

These projects involve a total investment of Rs.4,066 crore.
