Vistara set to fly on global routes

Tata-Singapore Airlines joint venture Vistara is all set to fly in international skies after it inducted its 21st aircraft on Thursday.

As per rules, a domestic carrier must have at least 20 aircraft in its fleet or 20% of its planes deployed in domestic routes before it is allowed to start international operations.

Vistara’s A320 neo powered by CFM engines comes in three-class configuration and a has a total of 158 seats.

“There’s great excitement amongst all of us at Vistara, as we prepare ourselves for taking the next leap in our journey to fly international,” according to Vistara CEO Leslie Thng.

The airline is awaiting regulatory approvals to introduce international operations.

The airline plans to start its international operations in the second half of this year with flights to the Gulf and South-East Asian regions.
