The International Tea Committee (ITC), a global tea body, which held its annual general meeting (AGM) in London on May 2, has flagged supply constraints and labour productivity as some of the emerging areas of concern for the global tea industry.
At the AGM, it also elected M. G. V. K. Bhanu, Chairman, Tea Board of India, as its Vice-Chairman with Norman Kelly of the U.K. being elected the Chairman.
It was learnt that Mr. Bhanu’s name was proposed by the U.S. and supported by China and Sri Lanka.
