Tata supplies 10 Tigor EVs to Cognizant

Tata Motors on Wednesday supplied 10 Tigor electric vehicles to Cognizant. The software firm will deploy the fleet at its Hyderabad campus.

Tata Power has set up two fast-charging stations in the campus. Tata Motors has partnered with Volercars for services including ground operations and fleet management.

Tata Motors said in a statement it would collaborate with group firms to provide a consolidated solution with respect to vehicles, charging infrastructure, maintenance services and financial assistance for procurement and operation of the Tigor EV fleet.

While Tata Power has been tasked with the fast charging stations, Tata Motors Finance will provide financial assistance to procure the vehicles.

Shailesh Chandra, president – electric mobility business and corporate strategy, Tata Motors, said the company would continue to strengthen its portfolio of EV offerings across passenger and commercial vehicles to meet future requirements.

Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, executive director, Cognizant India, said the company was one of the first in India to embrace the potential of electric vehicles as an innovative meeting ground of energy and mobility.
