Less than nine months after resigning as the MD and CEO of Hinduja Group company Defiance Technologies, Subu D Subramanian has re-joined the company in the same role, according to a release.

Defiance Tech, had, last September, been hit by a string of senior-level exits, the most prominent of which was Mr. Subramanian’s resignation. Mr. Subramanian had, after leaving, joined IT firm Cognizant as a consultant and adviser last December.

His contract with Cognizant was a short-term one, and has now come to an end.

According to Mr. Subramanian, coming back to Defiance Tech was important after taking a break. Along with the Hindujas, he has brought in a new Enterprise head as well as a new Chief Financial Officer.

Client confidence “It’s very exciting to come back. When you come back after taking a break, it gives you perspective. My first move, which I have already started doing, is to restore employee confidence. The next is to meet clients… I will be heading to Europe and the Middle East next week to get everything back on track,” he told this correspondent.

In the nine months since his departure, V Sumantran has also stepped down from his role as Vice-Chairman in both the Hinduja Group and at truck-maker Ashok Leyland.
