The spectrum auction seems to be coming to an end as on the eighth day of the ongoing process on Tuesday, there was no major change in the bidding prices in the three metro circles of Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata where the premium 900 MHz band radio waves are available, while in the 1800 MHz band activity was registered in at least five of the 22 telecom circles.
Almost Rs.400 crore were added to the total biding prices on Tuesday, taking the total collections to at least over Rs.58,980 crore — Rs.35,390.67 crore in the 1800 MHz band and Rs.23,589.62 crore in the 900 MHz band. In the 1800 MHz band, positive demand was seen in at least three telecom circles — Assam, Delhi and Maharashtra.
In the 900 MHz band, against the reserve price of Rs.360 crore per MHz in Delhi, the provisional bid has reached Rs.746.96 crore, while in Mumbai, it went up to Rs.563 crore against the reserve price of Rs.328 crore and in Kolkata at Rs.194.63 crore against Rs.125 crore.
