Mxit in talks with mobile makers

South African mobile social network company Mxit is in talks with mobile manufacturing firms to expand its network in India. The company is now focussed on achieving about 20 million customer base, according to Roger Grobler, Chairman, Mxit India Pvt. Ltd.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Mxit India launch in Hyderabad, Mr. Roger said, “We are in talks with Nokia, Samsung, Micromax and Spice Mobile to aid our launch and expansion in a big way. Our association with Nokia worked well in South Africa, and was a great success.” “We expect to achieve break-even in four-and-half-years,” said Sam Rufus Nallaraj, CEO of Mxit.

The privately-held company was not willing to share financial details related to marketing, ad spend and revenue targets.
