Infosys loses one more top executive

IT major Infosys, which has been in the news lately for a spate of top-level exits, saw one more senior level executive leave its team on Thursday.

Prasad Thirukutam, global head of strategic sales, marketing and alliances, ended his 19-year-long career at Infosys. He was also head of Infosys, Americas. Mr. Thirukutam, according to the Infosys site, was till recently a senior member of the company’s executive council and has previously headed energy, utilities, communications and services industry group.

When contacted, Infosys said that Infosys President U. B. Pravin Rao would be managing his portfolio here on. Infosys did not declare to the stock exchanges as he was not a board member. Infosys confirmed in a statement that Mr. Thirukutam has “decided to pursue interests outside of Infosys”. “We thank him for his contribution to the company and wish him the best for his future endeavours,” the statement said.

There have been at least 11 board-level exits in the past year, with the last one being that of Infosys president BG Srinivas. The one year has coincided with the return of Infosys co-founder N. R. Narayana Murthy, and the company has sought to, on occasions, portray these exits as part of ‘necessary cost-optimisation’.
