BGR Energy lands NTPC order

The Chennai-based BGR Energy Systems has landed a contract from National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) for supply of 2 x 660 MW super-critical boilers to be set up at Solapur in Maharashtra.

The order is valued at Euro 109.79 million. There is also rupee component worth Rs.1,121 crore (around Rs. 1,855 crore). The execution period of the contract is 48 months, says a release.

“The contract provides for price variation. The foreign exchange variation risk is fully protected,” the release adds.

“This order is of great significance to the company, as we enter supercritical power equipment space with first contract from NTPC, the release quotes B. G. Raghupathy, Chairman and Managing Director, as saying.

BGR Energy will execute the contract in tie-up with Hitachi Power Europe, Germany and BGR Boiler.
