Alstom bags Rs.573-cr BHEL deal

French firm Alstom, on Thursday, said it had bagged a contract worth Rs.573 crore from state-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) for supply of equipment for a thermal plant at Nabinagar in Bihar.

Alstom has been awarded the contract worth $85 million (about Rs.573 crore) by BHEL to supply components for three units of 660 MW boilers for the Bihar project,’’ Alstom said in a statement here.

Under the scope of the contract, Alstom will co-operate with BHEL in designing the boilers and supply identified pressure parts of the 660 MW supercritical boilers.
