Air Costa flies one million passengers

Regional carrier Air Costa on Monday crossed the one million passenger mark as it flew its millionth passenger from Bengaluru to Hyderabad.

The one million mark was achieved after 20 months of operations.

The millionth passenger had flown on flight no LB693 on the Bengaluru to Hyderabad sector, which departed at its scheduled time of 10:45 am from Bengaluru, Air Costa said in a release.

The Vijayawada-based airline, which had commenced operations in October 2013, had transported 0.61 lakh passengers in May with 0.9 per cent market share.

“Air Costa team surprised its millionth passenger at check in counter by presenting a big boarding card with compliment and also offered complimentary snacks to all passengers across its 32 flights,” the release said.

“We are excited on achieving the first milestone of flying one million passengers and firmly believe to achieve greater success moving further,” airline chief executive K.N. Babu said.

Air Costa, part of the LEPL group currently operates 32 daily flights, connecting nine cities- Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Tirupati, Coimbatore, Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada.
