A year after launching Canadian smartphone maker BlackBerry’s Z10 phone, actor Ranbir Kapoor is now all set to endorse Chinese PC-maker Lenovo’s range of smartphones in India.

According to Sudin Mathur, Director-Smartphones, Lenovo India, Mr. Kapoor was already endorsing the company’s PCs and tablets.

“His association in endorsing Lenovo’s smartphones is an exclusive association,” Mr Mathur told this correspondent.

Mr. Kapoor had, in December, 2012, signed up with BlackBerry in a move aimed at wooing the “youth segment” and “young entrepreneur professionals.” BlackBerry is currently struggling in the smartphone market, and as part of its global vision, plans on taking a route that lays emphasis on enterprise software and affordable devices.

When contacted, Varghese Thomas, Director- Corporate Communications, India, BlackBerry, said that the company had a successful association with Ranbir Kapoor.

“As the brand realigns its new strategy, it is opportune to explore new horizons. BlackBerry as a brand continues to remain committed to the India market and consumers here,” he said.
