Country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday said it has recalled 69,555 vehicles, which includes Dzire, Swift and Ritz models, manufactured between March 8, 2010 and August 11, 2013 to repair wiring harness fitment.
The recall is only for the diesel variants of the three models. Out of the total, 55,938 units are of old Dzire, 12,486 units of old Swift and 1,131 units are of Ritz.
“This exercise is limited to vehicles within the above specified range and does not pertain to any other vehicle of the Company or its exports,” the company said.
Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki dealers, where the workshop technicians will inspect the wiring harness fitment condition and carry out the necessary repairs, free of cost, it added.
The problem was noticed based on feedback monitoring and internal checks by the company.
Earlier in April this year, Maruti Suzuki, in one of the biggest vehicle recalls, had recalled 1,03,311 units of Ertiga, Swift and Dzire, manufactured between November 12, 2013 and February 4, 2014 to replace faulty fuel filler neck.
