German luxury car maker, Audi, notched up a new record by reporting sales of 10,851 units in calendar 2014, the second consecutive year that it has crossed the 10,000 unit sale mark.
2014 also marked the seventh successive year of growth for the company, a statement from the company said. It reported best ever quarterly retail sales of 3,044 units in October-December 2014 a growth of 17 per cent over the year-ago period.
``We have closed the year at another record high,’’ Joe King, Head, Audi India said in a statement. ``Audi continues to be the undisputed No.1 in the luxury car market and we are now looking forward to an exciting 2015 with limitless luxury in store for India.’’

He said the company’s strategy helped it not only achieve leadership but also maintain it. ``We had many firsts in 2014 including introduction of segment first products such as Audi A3 sedan and Audi A3 Cabriolet. The company also opened new showrooms in Udaipur, Visakhapatnam, Nashik and Kozhikode in 2014 and inaugurated its first pre-owned luxury car showroom `Audi Approved: plus’ in Gurgaon in India.
