Adding a new twist to the mobile handset war, Spice Mobiles on Thursday launched a new handset that comes with 12 mega pixel camera with hi-tech sensor and hi-performance zoom. Priced at Rs. 14,500, the new mobile handset, S-1200, doubles up as a high quality camera besides having features such as stereo Bluetooth and other multimedia features.
“With the launch of S-1200, we have created a new category of hi-end camera phones. The new handset with its cutting edge technology and advanced camera functionalities brings with it new sophisticated technology which is the first step for future innovations in the expanding brand portfolio from Spice. With this handset, our customers can enjoy the dual advantage of a phone with in-built full-fledged camera,” Spice Mobiles Director and CEO Kunal Ahooja said at a press conference here.
“In the coming months, we will launch more exciting mobile handsets equipped with path-breaking technologies. We will also be expanding our reach by opening new stores and expanding our retailers' base,” Mr. Ahooja added. The company currently enjoys a market share of 5 per cent and an annual volume of over 50-lakh handsets. The company also signed actor Sonam Kapoor as its brand ambassador.
