Want to enjoy the summer vocation? Why not go to museums, zoo and tiger reserves? Thanks to service tax exemption in the latest budget, a visit to these places will be cheaper from today. (i.e. April 1). If you want to take a flight, however, think twice. For, you may have to shell out more now. The reason is simple. The Centre has now decided to collect service tax on 60 per cent of the value of air ticket. Hitherto, it was collecting the tax on only 40 per cent of the ticket value. Well, it is better to understand the ground realities and keep a control over your valet!
