The 50 annual number of Bhavan’s Journal, just released, has been dedicated to those who have defied age to contribute to society. The glossy cover is adorned by these personalities who have been the pride of India.
It is an amazing line-up of distinguished personalities from all walks of life – Lata Mangeshkar, Dilip Kumar, R.K. Laxman, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, Lakshmi Sehgal, V.R. Krishna Iyer, P.K. Warrier, A.B. Vajpayee, Pt. Ravi Shankar, M. Balamuralikrishna and Lalgudi Jayaraman to name a few.
The editor admits in his note that this is not a comprehensive list. How can it be when there are so many remarkable people who mock at age and continue with unflagging spirit? For instance Tao-Porchon-Lynch, 93, who teaches yoga even after a hip fracture.
