Whats starts out as a holiday transforms into a journey of self-discovery.

My Way is the Highway by Urvashi Gullia.

My Way is the Highway revolves around the life of Manki, a passionate journalist, who works for a Hindi news channel, surrounded with pesky employees and superiors. Frustrated and confused, she packs her bags for an unplanned vacation with no idea where she is headed. What follows is a holiday of self-discovery and exploration, with a spoonful of romance added.

My Way is the Highwaymakes for a breezy read and there is nothing very weighty in the storyline. A few events leave you roaring with laughter. Watch out for the incident when Manki and her camping buddies play Truth and Dare. Also, Manki's bizarre habit of naming her belongings leaves you with a smile on your face. A word of caution: The book is loaded with Hinglish. Some lines are unintentionally funny, especially when Manki explains why she doesn't mind doing household chores herself, except for making rotis. She explains, “I don't do the atta!”

The book is a great travel companion or is best read when you have nothing worthwhile to do. Do not expect much out of it and you will be a happy reader.
