Nikitha Singh’s 10th book Every Time It Rains is a page turner and tells the story of Mahi and Laila

Oscar Wilde once famously said - ‘If one cannot enjoy reading a book over and over again, there is no use in reading it at all.’ And, Nikitha Singh’s Every time it rains is one such book that the readers can never get bored of. Written simply, it is a sequel of Nikitha’s Like a Love song , in which Mahi and Laila were the protagonists with the story from Mahi’s perspective.

This is Nikitha’s 10th book. Her books deal with human emotions that any teen or young adult can identify with. The young novelist did her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy and it was during her third year that she wrote her first book Love @Facebook and since then there has been no looking back.

Every Time it Rains revolves around Laila’s life, how she picks up the broken pieces of her shattered heart and whether she gives love another chance in her life remains a mystery till the end. The title denotes the melancholy mood which lies below the surface. The author, who was in Bengaluru for the launch says she connects with Laila, who is a fearless version of herself.

“The book wrote itself after chapter 13,” says Nikitha. She was working with Durjoy Datta on another project when she realised their writing styles were quite similar and so began their writing journey together. She is now ready to take on any challenge in life and is open to try out different career options such as fashion styling and blogging.

Nikitha, who also won the Young Achievers Award, says she always wanted to write a book. She felt she could never write like the authors she had read and admired. One day however, she “stumbled on a bad book and felt, if people can buy such books I knew I could do better than that.” This triggered the writer within her. Having achieved so much at such a young age, she is just like another youngster who loves Star Wars , Batman and Wolverine and we understand why.
