Svanubhava 2012 is back in August

July 20, 2012 02:17 pm | Updated December 05, 2021 09:17 am IST - CHENNAI:

The latest edition of Svanubhava, a cultural event, will be held in the city from August 1 for three days at the Rukmini Arangam, Kalakshetra

Svanubhava, popular to Chennaiites as a musical extravaganza for students, and organised by students, is a joint creation of Matraka, an organisation promoted by Carnatic vocalist T.M. Krishna, and the Youth Association of Classical Music (YACM), an outfit run by a group of youngsters to provide a platform for upcoming artistes to showcase their talent.

When it began four summers ago, Svanubhava was held across multiple centres in the city. Subsequently, it spread its wings to expand into the capital city of New Delhi. Last year, it even went to the temple town of Trichy.

Since it hosted its maiden event in the city, Svanubhava has become a much anticipated mid-year event.

What is so significant about this particular musical event is that programmes are conceptualised by the student community. The primary objective of Svanubhava is to give students a sense of participation in an extraordinarily popular event.

Like in the past, this year, too, the organisers of Svanubhava have lined up interesting programmes for all three days.
