BDA likely to begin KG Layout site allotment this month

Over 15,000 applicants are vying for 5,000 sites

Months after announcing the site allotment in Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Layout, Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) will finally begin the process within the next 15 days. As many as 15,178 applicants are vying for 5,000 sites, which will be allotted as part of Phase II of the layout.

Officials have received the highest number of applications for 20x30 sites priced at around ₹6.8 lakh under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category. As many as 8,257 people have applied for 1,000 sites under this category.

On the other hand, there are 1,227 applicants for the 500 sites on offer under the general category with the same dimension.

Sites with 30x40 dimension, too, have seen great demand with 4,574 people applying for the 2,500 sites on offer.

Among the other site dimensions, 269 people have applied for 300 available 50x80 sites and 700 for the 1,416 available 40x60 sites.

According to a senior official in the BDA, the process of scrutinising applications has begun. “Priority will be given to those who have made a minimum of four attempts to secure BDA sites,” the official added.

The BDA called for applications for Phase II of the project in December 2017. Extending an earlier deadline, aspirants were given time until February 23 to send their applications. This follows allotment of 5,000 sites under Phase I of the project in November 2016.
