Alphonso mangoes from the districts of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Palghar, Thane and Raigad were given the GI tag.

Description: When fully ripened, it is sunshine-yellow in colour with red blush on top.

Banganapalle

The GI-tagged variety is mainly grown in Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh. Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra Pradesh are considered the secondary centres of origin.The government also listed Khammam, Mahabubnagar, Rangareddy, Medak and Adilabad districts in Telangana as secondary origin centres.

The GI-tagged variety is grown in Malihabad, Mal, Kakori and Bakshi ka Talab along the banks of Gomti river in Uttar Pradesh.

Himsagar

The Malda variety of the Himsagar mango was given a GI tag.

Weight: 250g - 300g

States: Bihar, West Bengal

Description: Fruit is of medium size and ovate to ovate-oblique in shape. Fruit colour is yellow.

Kesar

Gir kesar from Gujarat got a GI tag. Talala, Keshod, Vanthali, Una, Kodinar and Mangrol talukas are the main producers of Kesar mango in Junagadh district. In Amreli, the major centres are Dhari, Khambha, Rajula and Jaffrabad. Marathwada Kesar from Maharashtra also got a GI tag.

Description: Indigenous to Murshidabad in West Bengal, the fruit is oval-oblique and has a good keeping quality

Description: Large-sized, spheroid to roundish-oblong in shape and yellow. On ripening, it develops a crimson blush on the shoulder.

Neelam

Description: The skin is a bit orange and the fruits are usually smaller compared to other mangoes

Pairi

Availability: April to July

Weight: 150g - 220g

States: Karnataka, Maharashtra

Description: Tastes in parts sour and sweet

Totapuri

Availability: May to July

Weight: 500g - 800g

States: Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Telangana Karnataka, Tamil Nadu

Description: The tip looks like parrot's beak. The fruit tastes flat.The flesh is cadmium yellow in colour and the pulp is fibreless, juicy and 76-77 % flesh and the rest seed.

Zardalu

Zardalu mangoes from Bhagalpur, Bihar got a GI tag.

Availability: May to July

Weight: 220g - 250g

States: Bihar

Description: The fruit is medium sized, oblong in shape and golden yellow in colour.
